Hi folks!

Yes, it's time. The Master Clinician Lecture Series strikes again. This time with an approach that you may not have heard of before. It's new to me, and I'm looking forward to learning more about it. As you probably know by now, the purpose of this series is to explore complexity in its various forms as we all strive to become masters of clinical work. This month Lee Rodin will present Beyond Labels: A Holistic Approach to Neuro-Development.

HANDLE (Holistic Approach to NeuroDevelopment and Learning Efficiency) is an approach that addresses issues at their neuro-developmental root, making transformation possible. Some perplexing behavior can't be explained or addressed using the psychological-emotional-social perspective because the root cause is neurodevelopmental. Issues including difficulty with attention, anxiety, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive behavior, insomnia, and inability to sustain eye contact can be transformed when we address foundational systems that are weak or inefficient. This presentation provides a new way of identifying and treating these issues using the HANDLE approach.

Lee Rodin, LCSW, has been in private practice for 29 years. She is a Certified Jungian Psychotherapist and an EMDR therapist. As a Certified HANDLE Practitioner, she helps children, adolescents, and adults to integrate their brains and bodies so they can begin to transcend labels and achieve their goals. Through HANDLE, she has helped people with attentional problems, academics, socialization, depression, and anxiety. Other issues include low muscle tone, sugar addiction, insomnia, chronic fatigue, and chemical sensitivity. As an EMDR therapist, Ms. Rodin also works with people who have experienced trauma and anxiety. She sees individuals and couples in her Evanston office.
