We maintain a close focus between individual exceptionalities and provisions for them. To assure careful monitoring of each child's progress, there is close coordination between staff members. We take into account the needs of gifted children in our decision making process, our policies, and our day—to-day conduct. Each student is encouraged to heed their need to exercise self-direction over their own learning process. This assists children at GLC with avoiding or shedding the limiting, and in some cases destructive, impacts of the diagnostic conventions employed by traditional educational systems in their efforts to mainstream gifted learners.
